Making a Clean Getaway: New Health & Safety Standards at the Inclusive Collection

In only seven months, COVID-19 has changed just about everything. From face masks to social distancing, “normal” has clearly evolved. Yet some things can’t be changed, even by a pandemic: The simple comfort of a cool ocean breeze. The wonder of experiencing a destination for the first time, or the joy of returning to a favorite place. The sense of relaxation from hitting pause on routine.

If there’s ever been a time when we’ve needed a vacation, it’s now. So the question then falls on us, how do we make it happen safely for customers?

It all comes down to picking a hotel that’s serious about sanitation. A leading example: the Inclusive Collection, part of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Offering guests everything they could need on site—in sun-and-sand destinations that have enacted careful safety regulations—these Endless Privileges®, Unlimited-Luxury®, and Unlimited-Fun® properties were some of the first to earn our TripTrust™ designation, awarded exclusively to hotels that have reported they’re following intense health and hygiene standards.

Effective at all brands in their collection, the Inclusive Collection has adopted stringent CleanComplete Verification™ guidelines—setting the bar high. Rolled out in partnership with Cristal International Standards® (i.e. one of the world’s leading third-party organizations for safety and quality), the new program accounts for every aspect of a stay, letting guests experience their getaway rather than worry about it.

When in Doubt, Sanitize
It’s a known fact that travelers almost always forget something. If that bottle of Purell doesn’t make it into the suitcase, your clients won’t need to worry. Hand sanitizer stations have been installed at check-in (to go along with pre-packaged welcome drinks), in guestrooms, outside elevators, and in other high-touch areas. Plus, pool and beach butlers always have a ready supply available.

Sparkling as a Diamond
… Or the many AAA has awarded the Inclusive Collection. Already impressive standards for cleanliness have skyrocketed, making hotels “shine like the top of the Chrysler Building.” Lobbies get disinfected hourly, and luggage carts are sanitized before and after each use. Amenities—down to the TV remote—now come in sealed packaging. Even the pools and water systems are tested regularly. If it’s on the resort grounds, you can be sure it’s been cleaned, and cleaned again.

Even Cleaner Than Your Plate
Stepped-up protocols make sure dining isn’t only enjoyable, but safe: Bar snacks are served in individual portions. Tablecloths from socially distanced tables are changed after every diner. Menus are posted to digital boards and downloadable to personal devices, allowing contact-free ordering. At buffets, plexiglass barriers protect the food, and tongs are replaced no less than three times an hour. For guests still feeling hesitant, new à la carte options eases concerns.

With so many precautions in place, the Inclusive Collection really does show that vacations can be safe. If you’re not sure that your clients are ready to travel now, however, help them determine their comfort level with our COVID-19 Travel Edition Quiz—part of our Walking on Sunshine campaign to boost advisor recovery.

When they are ready to take that jump, you’ll know just where to send them.
